My name is Ellie Chitty and my role is a Trainee Dental Nurse here at Beyond Dental Leamington Spa.

My role within the company is to be trained & to learn the duties & the basics of dentistry as a whole, and in particular dental nursing whilst learning on the job, by being taught by a qualified dental nurse in order to gain a qualification. The training focuses on the theory & practical’s of assisting the dentist but also the personal side, by developing closer patient care in order to ensure the patient’s whole journey within Beyond Dental exceeds further than any dentist they have visited in the past.

I have 3 separate qualifications; Animal Care & Beauty Therapy level 2 &3. However, I have been working in retail for around the last 4 years and have built confidence in communication but now I would like to have a qualification & career in something different & something I enjoy.

I became involved in dentistry as close patient care is really important to me, as I really enjoy studying, assisting & witnessing a patient’s journey within a company I am working for. Furthermore, I studied basic tooth theory for both Animal Care & Beauty Therapy and I found it very interesting, so I wanted to adapt my interest even more!

I decided to work for Beyond Dental because it is a brand-new dentist in Leamington and by far is the most amazing, brightest & cleanest dentist I have ever been to! I instantly felt so welcomed to the practice every time I visited, whether it was my first interview or for meetings, everyone I spoke to were so welcoming! The practice itself is amazing but the dentists, nurses, equipment, treatments & patient care make it incredible!

Apart from the fact that the practice itself is so amazing, Beyond Dental is so different because the practice really focuses on patient care from the moment, they step in. I have never been anxious about going to the dentist, but I always think if I was, then visiting Beyond Dental would reassure me by far & make me feel so relaxed, which I haven’t thought about before with other practices.

Everything in the practice is put in place to ensure patients have a positive experience, which is so important in busy day to day lives!

Outside of dental nursing I really enjoy spending time with my family & friends, with them I usually go away for weekends, eating out at restaurants or take it easy having duvet days! I really enjoy taking my Springer Spaniel, also called Ellie, on walks around the park. My other hobby would definitely be baking. During lockdown, I spent all my time making cupcakes and delivering them to close family & friends! Furthermore, I have a very unusual interest in the paranormal, I enjoy watching lots of ghost programmes and reading books about it, I could talk about it all day long!
